Tomos Williams
Mae Tomos yn drwmpedwr unigryw yng Nghymru gan ei fod yn uno dau fyd cerddorol gwahanol - jazz a gwerin. Mae wedi perfformio yn rhyngwladol gyda'r band traddodiadol Cymraeg fernhill dros y pymtheg 'mlynedd diwetha', a chware gyda fernhill dros y cyfnod hwn gwnaeth fagu ei ddiddordeb yng ngherddoriaeth gwerin Cymru.
Mae Tomos yn arwain y band 'Khamira' sydd yn uno cerddorion a cerddoriaeth o'r India gyda jazz ac alawon gwerin Cymraeg, ac mae hefyd yn chwarae yn y pumawd jazz '7Steps' sydd yn perfformio cerddoriaeth Miles Davis.
Mae 7Steps wedi teithio yn yr Iwerddon ddwy waith ac mae'n cynnwys y cerddorion jazz Gwyddelig Kevin Lawler (drymiau), Adam Nolan (bâs) a Adam Nolan (sacsoffon).
Recordiodd Tomos 'Carn Ingli' yn 2012 - albym o ddeuawdau a triawdau gyda'r delynores deires Llio Rhydderch a Mark O'Connor ar y dryms.
Derbyniodd Tomos wobr Cymru Creadigol oddi wrth Cyngor Celfyddydau Cymru yn 2012-2013.
Tomos, from Aberystwyth, is a unique trumpeter in Wales who straddles both the folk and jazz worlds. He has played internationally with the widely respected and ground breaking Welsh folk band 'fernhill' for the past 15 years.
As well as leading Burum he also leads the Indo-Welsh band 'Khamira' which fuses Welsh traditional melodies, jazz and Indian classical music.
Tomos leads his own jazz quartet '7Steps' which focuses on the music of Miles Davis, which has toured Ireland with the Irish rhythm section of Kevin Lawler (drums) Andrew Csibi (bass) and rising star Adam Nolan on tenor sax.
Tomos masterminded, played on and produced a trio recording with the eminent Welsh triple harpist Llio Rhydderch and Mark O'Connor on drums, called 'Carn Ingli' which was released in 2012.
He studied Jazz at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Cardiff as a Post-graduate student and is a recipient of a prestigious Creative Wales Award (2012-13) from the Arts Council of Wales.
